Emergency Resilience Plan

Alongside about a third of parishes in Suffolk, Coddenham has an Emergency Resilience Plan. This is held by the clerk to the parish council and lodged formally with the Babergh & Mid-Suffolk Emergency Planning Team.

The plan covers both local emergencies e.g. weather events that lead to large fires, flooding and/or loss of power, together with the community response to national situations e.g. another pandemic. Support for vulnerable members of the parish is a special feature of the plan. Under it The Coddenham Centre is designated a Community Rest Centre in the event of an emergency.

The national emergency preparedness website is located here.

Co-ordinated or under advice from B&MSDC the plan will be overseen and managed in Coddenham by members of the Community Emergency Coordination Group, which includes members drawn from parish organisations, who, together with the parish council, are needed to deliver various aspects of the plan. This is a whole community endeavour.

The plan will be reviewed annually or following any situation that leads to its enactment.
