We have been made aware that Highways are planning to carry out carriageway bank stabilisation and reconstruction works along the B1079 Otley Bottom, details of which follow.
"Works are programmed to take place between Tuesday 28 May and will continue until Tuesday 23 July 2024. During this time, the road will be closed to ensure the safety of highway users and operatives.
For the duration of the closure, traffic will be diverted via the B1078, B1077, A1214, A12, B1079 and vice versa.
This is a significant project, focusing on two large areas of road which have suffered deterioration following the collapse of the road bank during Storm Babet. Works not only aim to repair the damage caused to be significantly reduce the ;possibility of future collapses impacting the carriageway.
Due to the complexity of these works, significant preparatory and design works were required in order to ensure the works were planned effectively. We thank the local community for their patience."
